Capgemini and Sogeti Announce an Expanded Global Engineering Services Offer

Global Engineering Services added to the Group portfolio.

Paris, France, January 21, 2014 – Capgemini, one of the world's foremost providers of consulting, technology and outsourcing services and its subsidiary Sogeti, a leading provider of technology and software testing, specializing in Application, Infrastructure and Engineering Services, today announced Global Engineering Services (GES) to provide innovation and expertise in engineering and design processes worldwide, relying on a Rightshore® approach and a strong back-office in India. France, Germany, Netherlands, Sweden, Spain, UK, US and India will be the key markets at launch. The strategic global offering aims to provide four specialized value pillars including Mechanical Design and Simulation, Development and Testing of Embedded Systems, Product Lifecycle Management, and Technical Publication, to help organizations navigate digital transformation change, reduce process and management complexity and speed up time-to-market across each stage of the product lifecycle.

Capgemini and Sogeti’s GES offering addresses an increase in digital technology and cloud-focused environments which has led to a fundamental shift in how organizations approach mechanical design and simulation. The new global offering, at its core, intends to create synergies between organizations’ IT and engineering systems to better align and become a more efficient in their operations. The GES offer plans specifically to focus on organizations operating within the Transportation sector, including Aerospace, Automotive, Railways and Trucks and Off Highway, Industrial Products, and Energy industry. Global Engineering Services is a highly differentiated offer, combining high tech engineering expertise with a large offshore leverage.

Mechanical Design and Simulation
The Mechanical Design & Simulation expertise pillar intends to specifically include design, modeling & analysis, value engineering, simulation services and data migration services.

Development and Testing of Embedded Systems
The Development and Testing of Embedded Systems offer plans to deliver structure to the development, verification, and testing of written-to-operationalized products and systems. Streamlined data into standardized systems will better achieve order and efficiency in bringing a product to market while also ensuring safety and regulatory compliance is met.

Product Lifecycle Management
The GES Product Lifecycle Management offer lets organizations better manage information through each product phase: design and development, production, maintenance and retiring phase. A variety of expert features including consulting, implementation of tools such as CAD, PDM, SLM, and emerging technology services such as mobility and augmented reality aims to ensure that product lifecycles are effectively managed and all required information to bring a product to market is met.

This GES expertise offer plans to streamline, publish and manage all information required within a complex product technical manual such as detailed product specifications, visual imagery and step-by-step processes that each are needed to bring a product to market.
