Our history

Sogeti is an acronym of “SOciété pour la Gestion de l’Entreprise et le Traitement de l’Information”. The company was founded on 1 October 1967 by Serge Kampf, who saw strong potential in the provision of technical support services on the French market.

Our logo has changed several times over the years, but the red ace of spades has remained the symbol of our company.

The ace of spades is the strongest card in bridge, a game that was often played by the founder of Sogeti. The colour red was chosen to reflect the energetic outlook of the company.

Sogeti has been through many changes over the years. Founded in 1967, Sogeti took over Cap in 1973 and Gemini Services in 1974, thus becoming Cap Gemini. Although the name has changed, the ace of spades has remained to this day in the company logo.

Cap Gemini has traditionally concentrated on global delivery, but the need to provide IT services with a strong local presence grew stronger over the years. This is why Sogeti was launched again in 2002 with the mission of delivering local IT services.
